Can i spray 2k over cellulose

Assumimg you can't rub it off with the thinners, just abrade for a key, de dust and paint. How do you use a Barcoat? READY FOR USE best way is to stop wait for the last coat to dry, then gently flat back, apply a single coat of isolator to the entire panel, wait 1 hour in normal shop conditions then re-prime with cellulose or 2K primer filler when the primer has dried flat the primer back to take the topcoat.

What is difference between 1k and 2k paint? Once the hardener has been activated, you have up to 8 hours to apply the contents before the can becomes unusable. Which is stronger enamel paint or acrylic? Acrylic paint dries faster than enamel. It takes hours for the paint to dry completely. On the other hand, enamel can take from 6 to 24 hours to dry completely. Enamel is not the best choice for outdoors because it's less flexible than the acrylic and becomes harder which can lead to cracking.

Why are my printed photos blurry? Also, can it be bought in tins rather than aerosol as I would prefer to spay it on with a gun?

Thanks in advance. Posted 28 January - PM with Celly you normally apply loads of coats of paint and then buff it to the finish you want and then wax. Posted 28 January - PM Yeah that's what I did but it still had a slightly "flat" look to it, whereas the areas I clearcoated had a really nice wet look!

And no there was no sign of the paints reacting with each other. Would that give me the deep gloss that you get from 2k? I'm assuming that is also okay to spray at home? Edited by mini25, 29 January - AM. Posted 29 January - AM Your car does have a nice gloss to it! Has anyone ever used this before or knows how it compares to the 1K stuff?

I know it takes a long time to cure but I'll be spraying inside so I'm not too worried about that. Posted 29 January - PM I painted this with Celly and 1K acrylic clear coat You can get a good shine with un-clearcoated Celly but the shine doesn't last as long so regular polishing is required to keep it up and seal in the shine.

Is that the UPOL smart acrylic stuff? Also, did you just wet and dry the cellulose before applying the clear over the top? It is the other way round that needs the barcoat! Chris Stevens Guest. Be interested to hear how you get on with this, as never had much luck with putting cellulose over acrylics myself Thanks for the responses guys, that will save me some work!

So Celly only reacts with 1k paints? Out of interest whats the best way to remove 1k from a panel, sand it off or use thinners etc? Hi all, Is there an easy way to identify the existing paint? I've got rather more paintwork than I'd hoped to do on my Beetle soon and I know it's been repainted at least once over original paint before I had it, but I don't know what kind of paint was used. Thanks, Michael. Still, the 2k if done properly is a good base. Personally I'd go 2k again, celly just doesn't do the best job.

Is not cellulose very difficult to obtain nowadays? Plus it will give it that original look that 2k lacks. If my memory serves me well Cellulose will go over 2k, but not the other way around; 2k won't go over Celly. If in doubt about what you're applying anything over always carry out a test in an out of sight area first. If there is a reaction - or you'd rather be safe than sorry - apply isolator first.
