As with other high growth areas it has experienced some growing pains in the form of infrastructure struggling to keep pace with the population boom happening. One of the biggest pain points many residence experienced was traffic congestion, this has been addressed recently with the recent upgrade of the M1 motorway on and offramp at exit 49 and the widening of Foxwell Road.
Families are well catered for with a choice of schools including public and private schools with the newly completed St Josephs College Coomera and with Coomera Station right across the road from Westfield Coomera it offers great accessibility. I moved last year from Adelaide without knowing anything about Queensland, so I did not what to expect from Gold Coast.
Adelaide has a reputation of a 'big country town', so I expected something bit more exciting. Coomera caught my attention due to all the new developments.
The place does look nice and has some very amazing spots for walking, picnics and other outdoorsy activities. The negative is the distance to Broadbeach etc. And now the real negative - the residents. Despite its aesthetics, I could easily compare Coomera residents to Salisbury and Elizabeth in Adelaide. It is not uncommon to see, in some parts, dumped stolen cars, bogans hooning at roundabouts, or tuning engines in their garages whilst revving them to the max.
I do not regret buying my place here since it will be a good investment property, but no way I would stay to live here. I am moving about there from Mawson Lakes, SA soon. That was a good review when you mentioning those areas in SA. Hi Kyu. You will be in for a shock moving to Commera from Mawson Lakes. In general, I'd stay away from GC. Since my comment, I actually moved back to Adelaide. Let me know if you need tips for getting around.
Glad I found this thread, I am also considering moving to the GC and I will definitely cancel out Coomera as a potential residence. We are a family with 2 children aged 13 and Hi Alex.
Sorry this was your first impression of Queensland. If work isn't a problem there are plenty of beautiful beach towns north of the Gold Coast. One city that I live about 30 minutes away from is Hervey Bay. It's a cheap, growing beach city with everything you need.
If you or anyone else wants more information on it, let me know. I really enjoyed it here. Husband and I built our first home in We love living in Coomera. Everything is easily accessible, whether it's a trip to the Gold Coast beaches or Brisbane via commute or public transport, everything is easy.
While, the recent roadworks have been an absolute headache, we can see the benefits already falling into place, with the new Westfield Coomera about to open next week, and now much wider roads. There are brand new public and private schools and childcare centres being built which is great for young families having access to new facilities.
Since move here, we have had absolutely no issues with crime. Yes there are a few barking dogs around us, but unfortunately this is unavoidable when living in an urban area.
Houseos at its finest cars broken into nightly security is dodgey , very unsafe area. I'm very sceptical now, as I am viewing two properties next week for this estate. The reviews what the estate offers is what drew my attention as well as the 24hr security.
Should I reconsider. Its not gated. What is security going to do?? Get cameras, car in garage or theres probably 5 cars to one house. We live on the east side of Coomera in an estate, I don't love it but I don't hate it.
It's only a minute drive to the beach and same towards Brisbane which is a positive. Problem with the houses is that we're all like a bunch of sardines in a can, very close, I can hear my neighbour fart. We have been here for two years now but are looking to relocate.
Ranked 57th This place should not even be on the list. Avoid at all cost, the council clearly ignores the area and so should you.
The worst decision I made was moving my family to Coomera. Here's a few reasons. Barking dogs, dirt bikes, trucks, cars and trailers parked all over the street. Most people here use the garage as a type room and people continue to work or repair boats, cars or trucks on the street.
The wakeup call of crow is inevitable, it is a horrible place. Coomera is a great area for families. Lots of parks and safe family feel. Now has shopping centres being built and good access to the Highway. A up and coming area. Lovely suburb - nice and green, never had any trouble with crime. Affordable house the area is growing and more infrastructure is going in. Pleasure to live here. Upper Coomera is not Gold Coast living. It's a suburb out next to the freeway to Brisbane.
In fact it takes approx 1. Most of that time is queuing the narrow streets out of Coomera. Most houses are jammed in to small blocks and many are cheaply built.
As greedy developers keep expanding it to the west, traffic will only get worse. On the up side there is a local generic concrete precinct with a coles, hungry jacks and brumbys.
The crime rate is high as most of the houses are rented to large families with little to do and scarce public transport. There are no trees. Just roof tops as far as you can see. It's close to theme parks If you like watching TV overlooking a small fenced back yard behind a well locked door. Coomera is your place. There are much nicer affordable places around the Gold Coast. Don't be fooled by Coomera's "value for money".
Maybe put this in upper coomera rather than coomera - they are seperate areas :. Sunday am - pm. Report an error. Ends today. Covid 19 Important information - updated October It's necessary to respect following measures: Customers to remember to keep at least 1.
