User Info: KainDjinn. User Info: Maxurion. Thank you. I saw one too many topics about this very question so I thought I'd save everybody some time. One thing I'd like to add, to connect to party members in town you walk up to them and hold down right bumper, then push "A". Also you don't have to talk to the cats, there's a woman near the entrance that will tell you the same thing.

User Info: richie I didn't have to talk to any cats. I just talked to the one kid who was walking around near the entrance to town. He told me a big bear ran past, and no one believes him. I went back to Gina and told her, and then I went out and got Gustav. It's a lot easier than going around and talking to all of the stupid cats. User Info: DekarTheDragoon. I didn't talk to a single cat in my game. I believe there is a little boy near the exit of town who also alerts you to the beat.

Err, the bear. Easy as that! Once in Fayel, exploration can begin immediately. There are plenty of people to speak with, plenty of buildings to explore, and lots of things to do this is definitely the biggest settlement of any kind we've yet come across in the game. However, chances are you won't get much of a chance to explore before pre-planned events take over the game. When you approach the castle, a rather lengthy cutscene will appear an important one where you learn Aya's true identity.

From there, a couple of more cutscenes ensue. You may want to just get these out of the way immediately before exploring -- not necessarily a bad idea -- but remember to explore after these cutscenes take place. You'll ultimately regain control in the town's inn, but when you go outside, another cutscene takes place. This time, the cutscene means something apart from story progression because it gives you a little quest to occupy yourself.

Aya's pet bear what!? She'll tell you that she saw the bear you seek run out of town be sure to speak to her twice! With that information, head back to Aya's maid and tell her you found the bear. Of course, she won't be satisfied until you actually capture it. Once you leave Fayel, head forward until you reach a branch in the road, taking the eastern route.

A cutscene will -- huge surprise -- once again occur, with a new character you've never met helping you out during a battle with a powerful monster to save Aya's pet bear.
