The beer range was pretty good with house beers provided by Freedom, a mix of some of the larger UK craft brewers Camden plus a few guests with a Wild Beer and Lervig on tap plus a couple of local ciders. There's also a solid range of bottles too. Prices were decent and the service was really good and efficient with the pub being heaving.

Brewpub in the old town. Really traditional old boozer. Decor is pretty decent and adds to the traditional vibe. Beer quality was good. Service was good and prices were decent to. Decent place. Worth a stop for the beers if you've not had them before. Has four cask pubs, eight keg taps and a decent bottle range.

Beer quality was very nice when I was in. Service friendly and knowledgable. Food was excellent. Interior is cozy, stylish and has a very local feel to it. Pub sells its own bread. EdKing days ago. Mostly white features with basic furniture and seating. The brewing kit is located out back. There is a slick tap feature behind the bar and beer selection is printed out and posted on individual hanging clipboards.

Only two Brave beers pouring on my visit with the Peoples Pils particularly tasting good. The remainder of taps were from Kiwi breweries with some notably big hitting brews. Friendly staff and overall a pleasant spot to grab a beer. A little walk from the city centre, near a large Morrisons but slightly off the ale circuit. Food includes pizzas cooked in a wood burning oven. Way out in the country, you can taste both wines and beers there for no charge, then you can buy bottles of course.

The wines are pretty much average, but the beers were fairly tasty. Students, older people, women drinking coffee, All kind of people in this place.

The staff is knowledgeable. Nice selection of hard to find English brewers. Rotating cask and keg beers. Nice place to visit! JefVerstraete days ago. About 50 craft bottles about a couple craft taps. Nothing crazy, but plenty of good beer. Visually the menu is kind of a mess, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good my food was; a melt with beef and mushrooms; and the thick cut toast was perfect.

Fries were also surprisingly good, and they offer about 10 different options for seasoning on them, like cajun or sea salt and thyme. Burgers looked good also. Interior ambiance of a small local bar, where you would go to watch the game. Service was friendly. JK days ago. General Havelock Bar.

About real ales on offer but the Dark Star Hophead was in poor condition. There are much better pubs in Hastings. The radio can be annoying if on too loud. Despite guest beers from across the UK and a few from abroad, the main emphasis here is local, especially food. Maybe a bit too trendy and foody for some but the choice and quality of beer is excellent. Forms part of a good pub crawl as 2 mins walk from the Dolphin and Jenny Lind pubs.

But the organisation of the event was too much for a committee made up of just Hastings Round Table - so, in return for a cut of the profit for their own charities - a committee was formed featuring representatives from Battle and Bexhill Round Tables, as well as Hastings Ladies Circle. But the stakes were getting higher - and so it was agreed that for and beyond the event would be managed by a limited company - Hastings Beer and Music Festival Ltd, with profits decreed directly to a charitable trust for use by the local Round Tables to continue their good works.

The festival saw an excellent line up on the stage - and what a stage it was. A brand new dome covered stage - yes, gone for the first time ever were the curtainsider lorries that we had come to love - and the effect was brilliant. The festival was to be another turning point in the history of the festival.
